Hold services for Mrs. Butts

Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvester Butts of Route 1, New London, formerly of the Vandalia vicinity, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church, with the Rev. John W. Hall in charge. Burial was in Vandalia Cemetery.

Mrs. Butts 62, died at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Hannibal, where she had been a patient only one day. She had been in ill health for some time.

Born at Middletown on Dec. 4, 1901, the former Geneva Fisher was the daughter of William and Edna Fisher. On June 19, 1922, she was married to Mr. Butts, who survives at home.

Also surviving are three children, Kenneth E. Butts, Mrs. Arlie (Kathryn) Horton, of here, and Marion D. Butts of New London; two brothers and four sisters, Oliver G. Fisher of Vandalia; Hamp Fisher of Canada; Mrs. Yuba Butts of Wellsville; Mrs. Darlene Barton of Middletown; Mrs. Birdie Rutherford of Wentzville; and Mrs. Effie Deardoff of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by a sister, four brothers and one grandchild.
