ROCKFORD - Loal Nathan Boeke, 91, of Rockford, departed this Earth and entered into Heaven at 7:08 p.m. Monday, Dec. 25, 2006 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born Feb. 2, 1915, in Wessington, S.D., the son of Charles and Leona (Patton) Boeke. Graduated from Wessington Public School in 1933. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Married Ruth Haugum on Jan. 11, 1947, in Clear Lake, S.D. He worked at Rockford Products for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He also farmed on Ogilby Road for 28 years.
Member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Survived by wife, Ruth; sons, Robert L. (Linda) Boeke Sr., of Rockford, and Roger L. (Sue) Boeke of Roscoe; daughter Rosemary L. (David) Mohr of Rockford; grandchildren, Robert (Maresa) Boeke, Ben (Deborah) Boeke, Karalin (Greg) Lyons, Jared (Jennifer) Boeke, Chris, Matthew, Sara Boeke, Lucas (Lindsay) Boeke, Peter (Jayme) Boeke, Noah Boeke, and Katy (fiance Adam Brock) and Kristi Mohr; great-grandchildren, Louis and Holly Boeke, David and Nathan Lyons, and Ella Boeke; brothers, Harlan Boeke of Winnebago, and Duane Boeke of North Kansas City, Mo.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Boeke of Watertown, S.D.; and many neices and nephews. Predeceased by sister, Wilma; brothers, Howard (Anne) and Carl Boeke; and sister-in-law, Mary.
Service at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Upper Sanctuary, 3300 Rural St., the Rev. Frank Moyer officiating. Visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Private burial in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford.
