Sherman T. Crawford
Sherman T. Crawford, 70, of 415 Eighteenth Ave. So., Nampa, died Saturday at his home.
Mr. Crawford was born Oct. 29, 1888 in Colby, Kans., and moved to Caldwell when he was 15 years of age. He married Nora B. Charlton Oct. 25, 1909, in Caldwell. He worked at the plastering trade two years before moving to the Riverside district near here where he resided for 18 years. He was one of the men who helped construct the cross on Lizard Butte near Marsing. He moved to Nampa in 1944 and was employed by the Showalter company for seven years, retiring five years ago. He was a member of the Baptist church in Notus.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Nora, of Nampa, include two sons, Ernest of Las Vegas and Howard Crawford, Medford, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Cook, Prescott Ariz., and Mrs. Pauline Mericle, Kuna; three sisters, Mrs. Eunice Raymond, Compton, Calif., Mrs. Nanny Kerschner, Caldwell and Mrs. Eva Maybon, Caldwell; 15 grandchildren. Three sons preceded him in death.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Peckham-Dakan-Davis chapel. The Rev. Victor Maier will officiate. Interment will be at Canyon hill.
