ADAMS, JACK, Services for Jack Adams, 74, of Dallas, will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at 2 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Gladewater Memorial Park. Born on August 9, 1931, in Gladewater, Texas, to Ben F. and Nannie Leo Adams he died on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, after a brief illness. He was a 1949 graduate of Gladewater High School and attended Kilgore College. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was stationed in the Philippines during the Korean War. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Master of Science degree, and a Master of Education degree from East Texas State University. On July 23, 1960, he married Anecia Vessels. His teaching career began in Crozier Tech High School and then he became coordinator of the Dallas Skills Center. Later he was the director of Adult Education at Skyline High School, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Tejas Social Club, the Gladewater Masonic Lodge 852, Texas State Teachers Association, and the National Education Association. He is survived by his wife, Anecia Vessels Adams of Dallas; 3 daughters, Angelia Jae Edwards of Sumner, Karla Lynn Adams of Dallas, Kecia Renee Adams-Wright of Keller; 4 granddaughters, Jenny Lynn, Presley Blair, Harmony Gabrielle, and Melody Isabelle Edwards; 2 sisters, Helen Thomas and Jo Nell Lucky, both of Gladewater; 3 nieces, Brenda Brackeen of Gladewater, Jody King, and Marti McGahan, both of Cleveland; 3 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, J.G. Adams. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, specified for pancreatic cancer research, P.O. Box 906, Longview, Texas 75606.
