REGISTER — Mrs. Audrey Lanier Anderson, age 88, died Wednesday at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County. Mrs. Anderson, along with her husband, the late Lonnie Reginald Anderson, owned and operated Anderson Grocery in Register for 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, L.R. Anderson Jr. and wife Linda of Metter; two granddaughters, Amber Anderson of Register and Ashton Anderson of Metter; four sisters, Eubie Turner and Ollie Dixon, both of Statesboro, Alva Barford of St. Simons and Cora Dyson of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Robert Lanier of Statesboro; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Eckles officiating. Burial will be in the Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Franklin, Bob Avra, Gary Cowart, Larry Cartee, Jimmy Adams and Ibo Anderson Jr.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
