Birth: Oct. 13, 1856, USA
Death: Jun. 6, 1943, USA

From obituary in Delphos or Minneapolis paper:

Porter Winters Allison, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Allison, was born in Illinois October 13, 1856 and died at Oak Hill June 6, 1943, at the age of 86 years, seven months and twenty-four days.

He was married to Rosanna Elizabeth Ware, and to this union were born thirteen children. His wife and six children preceded him in death, his wife in August 1922, one son Charley in August 1941, the other five dying in infancy.

As a boy, Porter Allison came to Ottawa County with his parents. When grown to manhood he carried mail from Solomon to Minneapolis. Later he went to farming, but his trade was that of stone mason.

He was a loving husband and a devoted father, and always happy and ready to give a helping hand. He remained cheerful within a few hours of his serious illness, so that no one realized his condition. For twenty years he had made his home at Fort Benton, Montana, with his daughter Mrs. Florence Ayers, returning to Ottawa County nine months ago. Part of this time was spend with his son Bert and family of Niles, and last two months he had been with his son Roy of Oak Hill, where he was at the time of his death. He the last of a large family.

He leaves to mourn his departure, Henry Allison, Pasadena, California; Bert Allison, Niles; Roy Allison of Oak Hill; Mrs. Florence Ayers, Fort Benton, Montana; Floyd Allison, Luray; and Mrs. Carrie Ayers, Geraldine, Montana; and Jesse Allison of Fort Benton.

The body was brought to the R.S. Todd Funeral Home Sunday evening, and lay in state there until noon Wednesday, the day of the funeral, which was held at the Hall church at 2:30 o'clock with the Reverend Mark Yonnally officiating. Burial was in the Hall Cemetery.
