Martha P. Abare, 61, of Colonial Heights, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Obbie Pitts and Ruth Ellison; sister, Bea Hinson.
Mrs. Abare is survived by her husband, Richard Abare; daughters, Angela Bishop (Bobby), Christina Abare; sons, Bryan and Richard Pitts; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister, Louise Woodruff; brother, Tommy Pitts.
The family received friends from 3pm to 5pm Sunday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). Her funeral service held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA.
