MRS ARTHUR D AMES PASSES AT HOME, JUDSON STREET ROAD
Mrs. Arthur D Ames, a resident of the home of Judson street road where she came as a bride more than fifty years ago, passed away early Sunday morning after a prolonged period of impaired health.

A sister, Miss Helen Desmond, died at Hepburn hospital Thursday and her funeral was from St. Mary's Chruch Saturday morning. Mrs. Ames was too ill to leave her home to attend the funeral. Death came the next morning.

Funeral services were conducted at the home at 9:15 this morning, with a requiem ass at St. Mary's Chruch at 10 o'clock. The body was placed in a vault at St. Mary's Cemetery, where burial will be made later in the spring.

Mrs. Ames was born Elizabeth Bridget Desmond at North Lawrence on Aug 11, 1869, a daughter of John and Mary O'Conner Desmond. She attended St. Joseph's Academy at Brasher Falls. On September 2, 1890, she was married to Arthur D Ames of Canton and came to the Ames farm, Judson Street road. That had been her home all her married life, and last September the golden anniversary of the wedding was celebrated with all the family present.

Mrs Ames was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and during health was active in the societies of the church. There remain the husband, Arthur D. Ames, and the following sons and daughters" Stanley, John. Leo, Charles and Kenneth Ames of Canton; Mrs. Peter Murphy of Potsdam, and Mrs Frank (Ethel Marie) Cardinal of Canton. There are also the following brothers and sisters: John and Augustus Desmond of the town of Potsdam; Miss Anna Desmond of Potsdam; Mrs William Dunn of New Hartford, Conn., and Mrs. Angus Parkinson of Waddington.
