James D. Sharp was born in Ohio, on June 4, 1940. Jim was only 7 years old when his Father passed away. It was at that time, the family moved to Michigan. His Mother has since passed on also. Jim spent his childhood in the Whitehall-Montague areas. On Jan. 19, 1963, Jim and the former Jacquelyn Chamberlain, of Montague were married. Together they had 2 children. A daughter Kimberly and a son, David. (now deceased) Jim's main love was his family and spending time with them. He loved to entertain their grandchildren. He also enjoyed bowling, taking nice long walks and he had a passion for helping older people. He didn't care much for the typical hunting and fishing type things, but, he did enjoy camping with his family, and was also known to play a mean hand of cards. Jim had four sisters, Pat (Christiansen) and Rosie (Mikkelson) both of Montague ,both of whom survive him and Nancy (Higgens) and Mary jo (Rambo), both of whom are deceased. Jim spent 2 years in the U.S. Army. After that, most of of his adult life he spent working at CWC in Muskegon. He retired from that job in 1997. After retiring, he spent time as a volunteer with "Habitat for Humanity" and building diferent craft things around home. Jim was loved by family and friends alike, and will be sadly missed.
