| Birth: | Nov. 15, 1917 Hammond Piatt County Illinois, USA | | Death: | Apr. 18, 1998 Lock Haven Clinton County Pennsylvania, USA | Served in 3rd Army during WWII as a jeep driver/artillery spotter and attained the rank of Corporal. Narrowly escaped death several times throughout his life. At roadblock in Nazi Germany,(abandoned, with cigarettes still burning) severe car accident in Chicago, IL (emerged without a scratch after another car ran a red light and broad-sided the car he was driving on the driver's side-police officer found it hard to believe he was the driver), and riding his son Skip's dirtbike over a 60' cliff in 1975(broken leg-Dad was upset that he would miss golfing that summer). He did fully understand the difference between the clutch and the front brake after that incident. He was the Minister of the Lock Haven, PA Church of Christ on Walnut Street for 40 years from 1958-1998 and died peacefully on the enclosed back porch at home while in his lazy-boy recliner after suffering his 6th heart attack. Enjoyed playing golf and helping people.
