Grandma LuLu as I recall was a little heavy-set and lived in a gray house on the street next to and behind the Hammond water tower. As children, my brothers and I would travel from PA to IL with our Dad & Mom and almost always would wind up at LuLu's to play. I can remember playing under her metal kitchen sink as a young child and when I took all of the cleaning supplies, pots & pans and everything else out of the cupboards and spread them out all over the floor, Grandma remarked to my parents, "he isn't hurting nothing". She died when I was only 5 or 6 but I still remember her smiling at us, making us snacks and sitting on her rocker on the front porch in town back in the early and mid-1960's. Loved & missed much.
