Katherine Babich, age 88 of Hobart, formerly of Gary, IN, passed way Thursday, July 1, 2010.

Survived by her husband of 69 years, Joseph Babich; children: Margaret (Thomas) Thornton of Hot Springs, AR, Joseph R. (late Cindy) Babich of Clearwater, FL, Evette (Paul Thornton) Babich of Mission, TX; ten grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Pastuovic of Elmhurst, IL. Preceded in death by daughter, Marianne Vale; sister, Eva Starkovich.

Katherine was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Gary. She was a member of CFU Lodge 170 and Retired Croations. Katherine was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Class of 1940.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a rosary at 5:30 pm. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 9:30 am from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 am from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 330 E. 45th Ave., Gary with Rev. Stephen Loncar officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.

Memorials may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 332 U.S. 30 Valparaiso, IN 46385.
