Death: Jul. 10, 1921

Jane was born July 20/22, 1846, in Liverpool, England to George H. Humble and Mary Ann Gates.

She came to the United States around 1865. Part of her family remained in the midwest but Jane, along with a brother and sister, migrated to Meadow Creek, Millard, Utah.

In Utah, she met and married Joseph Thomas Brown. They had eight children while there:

John Brown
Thomas Humble Brown
Jane Brown
Mary Ann Brown
Sarah Ann Brown
Eva Francella Brown
Joseph Brown
William George Brown

Joseph, Jane, and family moved to Idaho in 1879, coming in a wagon train with the first group of settlers to the Rockland Valley. Only five of their eight children had survived to make the journey.

They homesteaded along a creek about two miles south of the present town site of Rockland. Joseph and Jane would go on to have five more children in Idaho:

Henry Able Brown
Anthony Stevens Brown
Josephine Brown
Milton Brown
Ernest Brown

Jane was a loved and respected member of the community, serving as a practical nurse and mid-wife for many years.

She passed away on July 10, 1921, in Rockland, Power, Idaho. She is buried next to her husband in Fairview Cemetery.
