Albert Esplin Adams

CEDAR CITY - Albert Esplin Adams "Bud" returned to his Heavenly Father Tuesday, January 30, 2007 in Cedar City, Utah. He was the son of Albert Evan and Verda Esplin Adams, born in Parowan, Utah on October 27, 1926. He served a mission for the LDS Church from 1949-1951 in the Eastern Central States. He attended Branch Agricultural College (SUU) and Brigham Young University, where he earned his Bachelors degree.

On May 31, 1956, he married Arita Rae Stapley in the Logan LDS Temple. They settled in Cedar City, Utah into a wonderful neighborhood where they raised their three children.

Albert had a successful career as a mine chemist at Utah International, Inc. For 25 years. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering as a tax consultant for seniors.

He was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After raising their children, he and Arita served a LDS mission in Tallahassee, Florida. He served the church in many callings including: member of the high counsel, in several bishoprics, and as a ward clerk.

He is survived by his loving wife, Arita, children, Mike (Sandy), Marie, and Kathy (Calvin), his sister, Carol Lawrence, and his grandchildren, Erica, Jessica, Jennifer (Mike), Michelle, Brian, Chris (Megan), C,J., Ben, Scott, and Stephanie.

He will be missed by all who knew him and he will be remembered for his smile, his generosity, and his witty sense of humor. He was an amazing man, a loving husband, a devoted father, and "grump-pa."

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the 15Th Ward LDS Chapel at 500 West 400 North in Cedar City. Visitations will be Sunday, February 4, 2007 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary and on Monday, February 5th one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Parowan City Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent to our website at
