Mrs. Mary Frances (Hermann) Boland, 79, of 834 North Osage, Independence, Missouri died today at a nursing home at 1500 North Liberty, Independence. She was born in Taos, Missouri, the daughter of Edward Hermann and Mary Magdalene (Williams) Hermann. She lived in Kansas City, Missouri 40 years prior to moving to Independence 12 years ago. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Independence.
She was the widow of john W. Boland, whom she married on June 3, 1915. She leaves their three daughters: Mrs. Ruth K. Smith, 1028 West Waldo, Independence; Mrs. M. Evelyn Little, Saginaw, Michigan; and Ruth Kathryn, and Mrs. Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Vogrin, 434 North 16th St., Kansas City, Kansas. She is also survived by a sister, Sr. Mary Pauline, St. Louis, and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Wednesday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Independence; burial in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. The rosary will be said at 8 o'clock tonight at the Ott & Mitchell Chapel.
