Beloved husband, father, grandfather, favorite uncle, and everyone's friend, Joe Lee Coppinger, was born on the 15th of March 1917 to William "Pete" Coppinger and Dona Willis. His paternal grandparents were William Coppinger and Nannie Ryder.

Joe Lee attended Milfay schools and married his sweetheart, Bonita Riggs in 1936. Joe Lee and Bonita had five children. They lived for many years in Bristow and then for many more years in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where they raised their children. Joe Lee worked at the aircraft factory in Tulsa for many years. He was also an avid rock collector.

Joe Lee was a loyal friend to many, especially his brother-in-law, "Mug" Linsy Riggs. They attended school together and many enjoyable days of hunting pheasants in South Dakota. Joe Lee was always happy, pleasant and whistled constantly. I never heard my Uncle Joe Lee say a harsh word about a single person. We all miss him. He has earned a special place in heaven.
