Norbert Nicholas "Norb" Baun, age 92, died on Saturday, April 2, 2011.
He was born January 16, 1919 to Fred and Mary (Steil) Baun of Highland Wisconsin, the youngest of seven children.
He was educated in the Highland schools and the University of Wisconsin.
He was united in marriage to Jane A. Weier of Dodgeville on May 5, 1941 and they had seven children.
He was a very successful pharmaceutical salesman for 37 years, winning three sales masters competitions and becoming the first inductee to the Warren-Teed Company Hall of Fame.
He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Atwood Ave since 1941, the East Side Business Men's Club, and in 1978 he and Jane joined the charter group of Friendship Force of Wisconsin.
He and Jane traveled to all fifty states, all provinces of Canada, and more than 38 foreign countries.
He enjoyed wood working, gardening, and especially loved a good card game.
Survivors include his wife Jane of six weeks shy of 70 years, his children, Carol (Robert) Strmiska, Madison; Barbara (Carl) Naugle, Orlando, FL; Jan Ely, Dane, WI; Bob (Carol), Winter Garden, FL/Avoca, WI; Ken (Efrat Livny), Madison; Dan (Janis), Prairie du Sac, WI; and Kathleen Baun, Cottage Grove, WI. There are many grandchildren, step grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is further survived by three sisters-in-law; Ann Weier, Mineral Point, WI; Alice Nondorf, Avoca, WI; and Betty Baun, Mountain Home, AR, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss his humor and teasing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Baun, three sisters including his twin, three brothers, a grandson, and son-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Saint Bernard Catholic Church, located at 2450 Atwood Ave., in Madison, at 10:30 A.M., with Msgr. Michael F. Hippee officiating.
Burial was held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Madison.
A Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Ryan Funeral Home, located at 2418 N. Sherman Ave., in Madison, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
A Visitation was also held at Saint Bernard Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M.
The Ryan Funeral Home of Madison assisted the family with their arrangements.
