Birth: Jul. 23, 1980, USA
Death: Jun. 27, 2010
Wisconsin, USA

God has taken all the deep pain away from our beloved son, brother, grandson and just an all together great and brave kid, Shaun Michael Bollig on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the age of 29.

He was born on July 23, 1980, the son of Urban "Butch" and Faye Bollig.

Sgt. Shaun M. Bollig served for our country in the United States Marine Corps from November 2001 - November 2008.

Shaun always wanted to travel and see the world; he did all that and more.

His assignment was to make, test and assemble all the safety equipment for pilots that flew F-18 and C-130s.

His last deployment was aboard the USS Enterprise with the aircrew control for nine months, two serving in Iraq.

Shaun was awarded many awards and medals. He will never forget the close friendships and pride he had made with all he served with.

Shaun went to school in DeForest and graduated in 1999. He enjoyed life with adventure and always seemed to find new acquaintances where ever he went and was always willing to help them.

His deep passion was hot rods and rebuilding car engines, and he loved to work in the shop with his dad making things run.

Shaun had many talents and ideas with the biggest smile you could find. He always lit up a room.

Shaun, we all know at least you are in a better, safe place, and are deeply sorry for all your pain you had to go through.

We love you Shaun more than we could show and the pain you felt is now with us to carry. Now you can take care of all of us and be there everywhere we need your love and spirit.

Thank you for being the best son, brother and friend we could have asked for. You helped us more than you ever thought you did.

He will be deeply missed by his dogs, Patch and Baby. He left a giant hole in the hearts he left behind: His mom and dad, Faye and Urban "Butch"; sister, Tori (Tim) Schiess; his grandma, Lorraine Holtan; his aunts and uncles, Cindy and Elliott Erickson, Diane and Rick Schoenemann, Pat and Larry Maier, Deb Brooks, Polly and Harlan Overland, Jerry Bollig, Mary and Doug Zweifel, and Bob and Laurie Bollig;

He is also deeply missed by his cousins, Brett Brooks, Heidi and Kevin Endres, Tyler, Cole and Mikayla, Jamie and Niki Schoenemann, Bradley and Claire, Nikki and Colt Voegeli, Payton and Hadley, Reid and Jessica Maier, Lily, Jared and Courtney Maier, Lawson, Zach, Emily, Annie, Katy, Meghan, Hunter and Samantha, Casey and Karla Williamson, Keaten, Tracy and Dwayne Davis, Madison and Reagan; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Shaun is now with family and military family that we had to lose; his grandpa, Merton Holtan; his grandpa, Urban and grandma, Pauline Bollig; and his aunt, Sharon Williamson.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Norway Grove Memorial Lutheran Church, located at 820 River Road, in DeForest on Friday, July 2, 2010, at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Kathryn Ulrich officiating.

Burial will be held at the Norway Grove Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the Norway Grove Memorial Lutheran Church on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 9:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

"God Bless you forever.

Semper Fi!
