Mr James D Fotias, aged 93, passed away Tuesday July 19 at his home in San Diego CA. Surviving are his wife Helen, his children Katina and Dan Fotias of San Diego, Anne and Andreas Fotias of Grand Rapids, Lia and George Kossaras of Flint, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild, his sister-in-law Mrs Christina Fotias of San Diego and several nieces and nephews.

Mr Fotias was born in Merkovoni, Greece, May 5, 1884 and came to this country in 1902. He was co-founder of the Madison Square Laundry. For many years he was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Grand Rapids and of Spyridion Greek Orthodox Church in San Diego. He was also a member of the order of AHEPA.

Funeral services will be held Monday July 25 at 11 o'clock at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 330 Lakeside Dr NE, Grand Rapids, Rev Demetries Koursasis and Deacon James Bagdan officiating. Internment Restlawn Cemetery. A Trisagion service will be held Sunday evening at 8 o'clock at the funeral home. Friends may meet the family Sunday evening July 24 only, between 7 to 9. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Mr Fotias will lie in state Sunday ony, 7 to 9 at O'Brien-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd and I-96 Expressway.
