Betty Jean Addy, 69, of Big Spring, died on Friday, April 12, 2002, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, April 15, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Wanda Hill, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Coahoma, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born on March 24, 1933 in Dalhart, Texas and married William Avery Addy, Jr. on August 1, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas.
Mrs. Addy was a teacher for 31 years, teaching in Amarillo and Big Spring.
She loved sewing and quilting and was a member of the Scenic Mountain Quilters Guild.
She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Coahoma, the Delta Kappa Sorority, the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a Pink Lady.
Survivors include her husband, William A. Addy, Jr. of Big Spring; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Ray and Lora Addy of Eastland; two daughters, Debra Kay Addy and Annetta Childress both of Mansfield; one brother, Dan Duncan of Panhandle; and two grandchildren, Duncan Addy and Sydney Addy both of Eastland.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 PM to 8 PM Sunday.
