Died peacefully, in St. Paul, MN at the Episcopal Church Home.
Alice was born in Red Lake Falls, MN, on February 27, 1915, to Arthur Cardinal and Alice Marleau Cardinal. Following her father's death, Alice helped her mother raise her 11 brothers and sisters. While working to help support the family, she met William (Bill) Delage. Bill and Alice married on May 30, 1939 and began farming outside of Crookston. The couple lived in the Crookston-Gentilly-Red Lake Falls area until Bill's death in 1991. Alice later spent time in Crookston, Halstad, and Grand Forks before coming to St. Paul in April of 2005.
A great seamstress, cook, gardener and craftswoman, Alice spent many hours in her younger days cooking, canning, sewing, knitting, and crocheting things for her family and friends. Though stricken with Alzheimer's in her later years, she never lost her smile, her sense of humor or her desire to give to others.
Alice was very attached to her family and will be missed greatly by her daughters Dori, and Jane, Delage. grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings; and her many nieces and nephews and their offspring.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, William, her infant daughter Maryanne, her son Dale, her daughter, Ruth, and by her brothers Arthur, Phillip, Ernest, Paul, and George, and her sister Eleanor.
