|Death: ||Aug. 8, 2000|
This is my grandmother from my biological mothers side. Even after my adoption all through my childhood with my new family every year she sent me a birthday card with money. I got to spend time with my grandmother in 1986 and again in 1991.
Everyone called her Dolly. She passed away in a nursing home. She was a 47 year supervisor for the former New York Telephone Co. in the Bronx and Manhatten NY. She married John Henry Cryan of New York and lived in New York for many years before moving back to the Springfield area in 1975.
Grandma was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and belonged to the Springfield Golden Agers.
She was a volunteer during the depression at orphanages in New York where she knitted and sewed clothing for children. Grandma loved playing bingo and drinking Diet Pepsi and telling jokes. She was the life of the party everywhere she went.
Grandma is proceeded in death by her husband John Cryan in 1954 and her only daughter Margaret Crosby in 1965. She leaves behind four sisters, four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
