Mrs. A. J. Baker is Laid at Rest
Mrs. A. J. Baker, who died at Gold Bar January 8th, was buried from Moll's morgue Wednesday at 1:30 p. m., when, in the presence of numerous friends, Rev. C. J. Swain delivered a touching funeral discourse, reading the following obituary notice: Mable [sic] Thacker Baker was born at Warrensburg, Mo. and moved to Illinois when a child; was graduated from the Virginia, Ill. high school and spent earlier years as a teacher, came to Washington in 1890; married to Fred J. Baker at Friday Harbor in 1901. She leaves a husband, one son, two brothers and two sisters.
Aside from the relatives mentioned the funeral was attended by an uncle, Capt. B. Thacker, and father-in-law, Elmer Baker. Interment took place in Harwood cemetery, where rests her father and mother, the pallbearers being D. S. Baker, L. N. Jones, A. J. Suttles, C. J. Warren, M. J. Dorgan, John Walcott and C. L. Marsh.
