Dorothy Celeste Corbin, 85, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, January 25, 2003 in Orange Park, Fla. Born December 12, 1917, in Portia, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Ollie Barnes and Martha Louanna Brooks Barnes.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry Ray Corbin, in 1995.

Dorothy was united in marriage to James Rothwell Corbin. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1971.

She was engaged in the banking business prior to her retirement and was a member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Corbin leaves one daughter, Jolynn Carpenter and her husband Stephen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one son, Ridgeway W. Corbin, II and his wife Judi of Orange Park; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; Three brothers: Chester Barnes and Cecil Barnes of Steele, Mo., and Everett Barnes of Scott City, Mo.; one sister, Audrey Turner of Steele.

Graveside services for Mrs. Corbin were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2003, at the Little Prairie Cemetery with Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of services.
