Larry P. Corbin died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center after a seven-year battle with cancer. Larry was born in Elgin, Illinois the son of the late Elmer and Velma (Stude) Corbin.
He was raised and educated in Elgin where he was a 1968 graduate of Larkin High School. After high school, he joined the Army and served in Vietnam. After bravely serving our country, he joined the electrical union IBEW #117 and became an electrician. A majority of his professional career was spent working for Carey Electric; as well as being self-employed as owner of Corbin Electric. He retired in 2002 and moved to Florida from Elgin in 2005.
Larry will be remembered by his friends and family as a caring, giving, dedicated person with a perfectionist philosophy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and children, traveling and attending sports games. Larry was also a former Pee-Wee football coach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Velma Corbin.
He is survived by his three sons, Christopher Corbin of Richfield, Minnesota, Chad Corbin and his wife, Angela, of Manchester, New Hampshire, Trevor Corbin of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a brother, Kenneth Corbin of Canada and several nieces.
I went to High School with Larry. I remember him very clearly after 40+ years. He was considered an outstanding person by everyone! I was so surprised to learn that he passed away. If Larry's family reads this, please contact me so that I can transfer ownership of this tribute page to you. I hope that you will agree that it is a comforting thought to know that this page with his name and photo will ALWAYS be here.
Best to you and yours,
