G. W. AKINS, 73, of West Memphis, truck driver for Strickland, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis with burial in Gibson Bayou Cemetery in Earle, Ark.
Mr. Akins, the widower of Vera Bell Crenshaw Akins, leaves two daughters, Catherine McHenry of Conroe, Texas and Linda Akins of Saulsbury, Tenn.; two sons, Terry Akins of Lakeland and David Akins of Indianapolis; a sister, Mattie Mae Martin of Memphis; three brothers, Thomas Akins of Southaven, Joseph Akins of Booneville, Miss., and Jerry Ray Akins of Horseshoe Lake, Ark., eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
