Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was mustered in as a Private in Company B, 93rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on October 12, 1861. He served until he was discharged due to disability.
On March 17, 1863 he filed for US Army Invalid Veteran Pension (Application #13891, Certificate #11240).
On January 4, 1907 his wife, Harriet Alexander, filed for a US Army Widow's Pension (Application #861007, Certificate #624994).
He resided on Hobart Street, Philadelphia at the time of his death.
