OLD RESIDENT DIES AT THE AGE OF 82 YEARS
Mrs. E. J. Abraham, an old and highly respected resident of Mercer County, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Pixler in Princeton. The funeral was held Saturday at the Pine Church, being conducted by Rev. Flute Walker. Interment was in the nearby cemetery.
Margaret H. Smith was born in Franklin County, Ohio, April 20, 1839, being 82 years, 4 months and 26 days old at the time of her death. She moved to Mercer County with her parents in the year 1840, and was married to E. J. Abraham, Dec 6, 1857. To this union eleven children were born. Those living are Mrs. T.T. Lieuallen, Gillette, Wyo; Mrs. Cory Brummet, Billings, Mont; Mrs. Otto Ballew, Carbondale, Colo; Mrs. Ruth Lindsey, Thermoplis, Wyo; Mrs. France Ellis, El Paso, Texas; Mrs. R. M. Evans, Chickasha, Okla: Mrs. J. H. Pixler and Mrs. C.M. Nelson of this city.
Mrs. Abraham united with the East Fork Baptist Church Sept. 17, 1867, of which she was a faithful member at the time of her death. Besides her children she is survived by ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren and two sisters. They are Mrs. Nancy Leachman and Mrs. Isaac Goin both of Mercer County. With the exception of seven years spent in Texas County, she has lived in Mercer County, where she has made many friends who mourn her departure. She was a true wife, and loving mother and a faithful friend. She will be greatly missed.
