Frances Jean Benzio, 82, of Connellsville, Pa., died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Westmoreland Hospital.

She was born Nov. 8, 1920, in Export, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Frances (Susa) Podgorsek.

Frances was a graduate of Export High School.

For many years, she owned and operated Benzio Dairy Farm on Narrows Road.

Later, she was employed by Montgomery Wards as a cook, until her retirement in 1985.

She was a member of the Owensdale United Methodist Church, SNPJ No.117, and the Connellsville Senior Tigers, who she assisted with Meals on Wheels for many years.

She also enjoyed singing with the Slovene Cultural Group of Western Pennsylvania, and reading and completing crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Benzio in 1968; two daughters, Carolyn, in infancy, and Frances Schouten; and a son, Robert Benzio.
