George Fabin, 63, of New Eagle, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at his home. He was born Dec. 21, 1939, in Carroll Township, a son of the late Andrew and Anna Swedic Fabin.

In 1952 he played youth baseball with the runners-up in the Little League World Series in Williamsport and, in 1954, played on the PONY League world championship team.

George served in the Pennsylvania National Guard, Company A from 1954 to 1964. He was a 1957 graduate of Monongahela High School.

George was formerly employed by Combustion Engineering in East Monongahela and Lawrence Hall Construction in New Eagle. He was a member of the Hoot Owl Athletic Association in New Eagle and was Protestant by faith. He enjoyed time with his family and grandchildren, and weekends at his summer home in Sandy Lake.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and John Fabin. Friends will be received in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held Saturday, May 31, with the Rev. Richard McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
