He is best known for his 1960s television situation comedy roles as 'Buddy Flower', in "Bringing Up Buddy" and as astronaut 'Mac', in "It's About Time". He began his career in the 1950s, appearing on Broadway in "Bells Are Ringing", "Wish You Were Here" and "Time Limit!". He regularly appearing in more than 100 television series, including "Perry Mason," "The Lucy Show," "MASH," "Kojak," "All in the Family," "Fantasy Island," "Murder, She Wrote" and "Dallas." His feature film credits included "Mister Roberts" (1955), "A Tiger Talks" (1964) and "Tora! Tora! Tora!" (1970). His wife was actress and former Miss America Lee Meriwether.
