Sidney C. Allen

Sidney C. Allen, 72, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday night, November 7, in a local hospital. He was born in Blum February 2, 1912, the son of James Bruce and Henry Elizabeth Crow Allen, and had lived in Hillsboro most of his life. The owner of Allen Auto Parts, he had been in the auto parts supply business for 37 years in Hillsboro. A member of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, he married Dorothy Barnes June 1, 1940. Survivors include his wife: two children, Linda Kay Tufts of Houston and Kathy Psenick of Lufkin; two brothers, James H. Allen and J.B. Allen, Jr., both of Hillsboro; four sisters, Ruby VanWinkle of Whitney, Jewel Allen and Dale Ezell, both of Hillsboro, and Mozelle Kelly of Burleson; four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 9, at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Leon Vorphal and Rev. Paul Owens officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro.
