DANFORTH - Tim Koets, 80, of Danforth, a retired farmer, died at 12:01 a.m. Saturday (February 25, 1989) at the Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, Illinois.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Ashkum, with the Rev. Daniel Huckins officiating. Burial will be in the Danforth Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton.
He was born on Dec. 29, 1908, in rural Danforth, a son of Jerry and Flora Perzee Koets. He married Thelma Janssen on June 22, 1935. She died on Nov. 16, 1971. He married Edna Wilken on Sept. 14, 1973. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Garvey, Indianapolis, IN, and Beverly Hendron, Mahomet; two sons, Duane, 1203 Riordon St., Normal, and Gary, Ashkum; a stepson, Roy Wilken, Danforth; eight grandchildren; a sister, Tracy Borchers, Gilman; and a brother, Arthur Koets, Belvidere.
He was a member of the Ashkum United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to the church or to the Gideon Society.
