Estel Isaac Bolman

Estel Isaac Bolman, 89, of Albany died of natural causes Sunday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.
He was born to George and Sophie (Foster) Bolman in Sedgwick, Kan.
While in school in Fulton, Kan., be met Violet Pearl Keller and married her on Aug. 7, 1934, in Fort Scott, Kan. They moved to Oregon in 1936 with their young son. they lived in many locations in Oregon, finally settling in McMinnville. They had three more children while in Oregon. In 1950, he moved his family to Crescent City, Calif., when the sawmill where he worked moved there. Pearl died in January, 1958.
He married his neighbor, Margaret Blagg, on Aug. 20, 1959, in Crescent City. She brought five children to the marriage and they had two daughters together. Because of work, they moved to Albany in 1964, then back to Crescent City in 1973. In 1977, they settled in Albany. Margaret died in December, 1997.
Estel worked from a young age as a paperboy, shoeshine boy, short order cook, farmer, logger, many different jobs in a sawmill, 23 years as a millwright, in a lumberyard and as a small engine repairman. He retired at the age of 76.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Francis and Rolland, and sisters Edith, Aldena and Lettie.
He is survived by son Wayne and his wife, Joan, of Crescent City and Gary and his wife, Dolly, of Daysville; daughters Patricia L. Johnson of Joyce, Wash., Linda J. and her husband, William R. Harlon, of Victor, Mont., Janie and her husband, Robert Ramsby, and Mariann and her husband, William Leemaster: stepsons Danny Gustafson and John Branson.
