Services were Wednesday, Nov. 16 for Lucille (Mrs. Louis) Boorom, 74, who died Monday at her home in Detroit Lakes.
Pastor Tim Pierece officiated at the service at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Donald Storm was the organist and Mrs. Tim Pierce was the soloist. Pallbearers were Mark and Mike Wallace, Donald and Terry Klovstad, Drew and Daniel Twa.
Lucille Cournea was born in Detroit Lakes on March 26, 1909, where she grew up and attended Holy Rosary Catholic School. She married Louis Boorom in Detroit Lakes on Feb. 28, 1936.
She worked as a cook at the Ft. Lewis Army Base, Tacoma, Wash. for 11 years before returning to Detroit Lakes, where she worked for Gambles for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Louis, and by four daughters, Frances Kucera of Melbourne, Florida, Barbara Lavaque of Chisholm, Phyllis Klovstad of Hoyt Lakes and Karen Wallace of Hoyt Lakes.
Other survivors include two brothers, George and Mathias Courneya, both of Detroit Lakes, 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Courneya and Hattie Merrit, three brothers and three sisters.
Interment Oak Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements were by West-Kjos Funeral Home.
