Grant J. Beall, 71, of Forsyth died Sunday evening, March 17, in the Miles City Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born February 7, 1920, at Big Horn, Montana, Mrs. Beall was the son of Arthur and Eva Dinsdale Beall. He was orphaned at an early age and was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Beall, in the Roberts area. He attended schools there and graduated from Roberts High School in 1938.
On October 7, 1944, he and Marie Buffington were married in Columbus.
Mr. Beall entered the Army on March 22, 1945, and served during World War II. He was discharged October 14, 1946 after serving in the US Occupation of Japan.
After his discharge, he returend to the Roberts area where he owned a ranch. In 1988, he retired. He and his wife moved to Forsyth where they had lived since.
Mr. Beall was a member of the New Life Christian Center of Forsyth, the American Legion Post No. 17 of Red Lodge and the American Miane/Anjou Association. He also was one of hte leaders of artificial insemination specializing in the Miane/Anjou cattle.
His survivors include his wife of Forsyth; two sons, Art of Red Lodge and Glenn of Breckenridge, Colorado; two daughters, Pat Mattingley of Froid and Carol Mattingley of Clarkfield, Minnesoita; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services are tentatively scheduled Thursday, March 21, at 2 p.m. in the New Life Christian Center at Forsyth. Dana Nile will officiate. Burial will be in Garfield County at a later date following cremation.
Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is in charge of arrangements.
