Edgar Farmer Dies at Work

Fay O. Buffington, 71, Edgar Farmer, died of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon while at work at his home.

Mr. Buffington was checking on some of his cattle when he suddenly became ill. An ambulance was summoned to the Buffington farm from Billings but Mr. Buffington was dead before the ambulance arrived.

He was born on September 23, 1885, in Washington County, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Buffington.

He came to Rosebud County at the age of 12 and later moved to
Garfield county where he farmed.

Mr. Buffington married Katherine Mahoney on December 22, 1915, in Billings. The Buffingtons came to Edgar in 1939.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Grant Beall of Nye, Mrs. Mike Hudak of Red Lodge and Mrs. Alex Crane of Bruett, two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Hoss of Tacoma, Washington, and Mrs. Leila Kurtz of Lawrence, Kansas, three brothers, Carson Buffington of Atelia, California, Charles Buffington of Saco, and Wilton Buffington of Jordan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday at Settergrens' Chapel. Burial will be in Rockvale Cemetery.

Funeral Conducted for Edgar Farmer

Funeral services for Fay O. Buffington, 71, Edgar area farmer who died of a heart ailment in his home Sunday were conducted in Settergren's Chapel Saturday.

Officiating was Tom O'Connor. J. Kenneth Doty, accompanied by Doris Freeland, sang "Oh, What Could My Jesus Do More" and "Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All."

Pallbearers were Eugene Stender, Homer Jensen, Jack Ross, Mike Gerber, James Kirby, and Thomas Anderson. Burial was in Rockvale Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Robert Crane, Tom Browning, George Burns, Frank Hunter, Ray Stevens, Albert Leuthold, J.E. Patterson, Oscar Vaught, Leo Stark, Williiam Million, J. J. Kane, George Newlin, Floyd Larsen, Gilbert Gerber, Ray Jensen, M. J. Becker, Don McRae, Jack Bailey, E.W. Fogle, J.E. Tannehill.

William Broadus, James Jensen, Lestor Orr, Allen Sharp, Hugh Mahoney, John Mahoney, Arthur Thompson, Miles Gassaway, Charles H. Mahoney, J.E. Whitmer, George Cross, M. B. Survivors include his wife, three daughters, two sisters, three brothers and nine grandchildren.
