Isaiah Marquis Lewis, 3 1/2 years old, of Meridian passed over to be with our Lord to finish his work that he started on earth on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004 after he swallowed a penny in his sleep. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 at Relyea Funeral Chapel. Pastor Gary Johnson will officiate. Friends may call to visit the family at Relyea Funeral Chapel one hour prior to the services. A gathering of friends and family will take place after the service at Overland Church of the Nazarene, located at 8585 Overland Road, Boise. Isaiah was born on Jan. 19, 2001 to Jessica K. Lewis at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise. If you want to have a glimpse of heaven, just take a look at this beautiful little man. The Lord would not have taken him from our loving arms unless he had a special plan and purpose for him. Isaiah began his life by attending Meridian Academy with his mother until she graduated in 2003. Isaiah made a huge impact on virtually every student and faculty member there with his love and beautiful personality, as his mother did such an awesome job with teaching him the finer things in life. Unconditional love, respect, compassion and humor were traits well beyond his years. He was a "special little man" to everyone that he met. He was a gift to Jessica at the right time. Nothing was more important to her. Everyone that got to meet Isaiah would fall in love with him; those big brown eyes that glowed with an amazing sweet spirit. He was the perfect little gentleman. There are no words that can be written in a lifetime nor enough words that can be expressed to all that should be said about Isaiah. He will be missed so very much by all that he touched. He has not gone, he has merely moved on. Isaiah enjoyed many things, like picking the flowers at home and giving them to his "Mamas," Grandma Darla and "Mom," Jessica just to tell them "Because I love you sooo much," along with a loving smile. Isaiah and Jessica moved from their home in Meridian to Boise in late 2003. Isaiah wanted to be at "Papa's" house 24/7. In March of 2004 he got his wish as they moved back to their home in Meridian where they belonged. Isaiah would stand on the back porch with "Papa" and say, "Do you hear that? What is that?" as he could hear the racecars practicing at Meridian Speedway from his home. He loved the "car race cars" and would say, "Papa! Let's go to the car races." He enjoyed being taken by his Grandma Darla and "Papa" Rick to the races where he had no favorite car (except the green ones) and no favorite driver. He loved them all, especially the ISRL Modifiers in which his "Papa" was involved. He would bring any money or change he would find to his "Papa" and say, "Papa! Here I brought you money, buy a car race car!" He loved his Aunt Jenny and would ask his grandma to call her to talk on the phone. He would want to go see her and his cousins, Kaylee and Davin "Dabbin." He and Kaylee were like best of friends. They even made Isaiah's 3rd birthday cake in 2004 together. They were so proud of each other. (You should have seen the cake!) Isaiah also enjoyed it when his mom's dearest friend, John, who joined the Navy in December, would call her because he would stop playing or loving on you to talk to John on the phone. John's best friend, Josh, has a niece named Olivia. Isaiah enjoyed spending time with Olivia, as she was his "girlfriend." He also liked to wrestle with his Uncle Sai. Isaiah is survived by his mother Jessica Lewis of Meridian; grandparents "Papa" Rick March and "Mamas" Darla Lewis of Meridian; aunt Jennifer Chareunsouk and husband Sai of Boise; cousins Kaylee Saysouthone and Davin Singpraseuth of Boise; and special friend John Nicolaus of Port Huememe, Calif. Isaiah's mother and grandparents would like to extend the awareness of Isaiah's death to all the parents of young children. Please don't leave change around the house or within reach of your young little ones, even if they don't put it in their mouths. If you would like to make a donation to help Isaiah's mother pay for his untimely departure, please make a donation to "The Memorial Fund For Isaiah Lewis" at Pioneer Federal Credit Union in Meridian. You can also send flowers to Relyea Funeral Chapel. The family would also like to thank the Meridian Fire Department, the paramedics, St. Luke's Meridian, Relyea Funeral Chapel, friends and family for their diligence and perseverance for Isaiah.
