Elizabeth L. Foresman, 89, of Abington Manor and formerly of West Scranton, died Wednesday in Mercy Hospice. Her husband, Ralph D. Foresman, died in 1994.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Thomas T. and Mary Louise Morgan Williams, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, class of 1937. She was a member of Trinity Congregational United Church of Christ, where she had been an active member of the church choir, the Trillium Guild, music committee, a former member of the Deaconate board and served as chairwoman of the church benevolence committee.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Foresman, Dunmore; and Jeane Stasik and husband, Paul, Wilmington, N.C.; a son, Rodger D. Foresman, Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren, Christopher Stasik and wife, Sarah; Thomas Stasik and wife, Raquel; Paul Stasik Jr., Katherine, Allison and David Foresman; and two great-grandchildren, Briana Stasik and Tucker Patout.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, the Rev. Thomas J. Williams; and two sisters, Edna and Alice Williams.

A memorial service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Congregational United Church of Christ, 237 S. Main Ave., to be conducted by the Rev. Frank Andrews Shimkus, pastor. Interment, private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Saturday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Davies and Jones Funeral Chapel Inc., 135 S. Main Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Congregational United Church of Christ, 237 S. Main Ave., 18504.
