Isaac De Mallie was born in Rochester, in December 1855, the son of Isaac De Mallie and Marie Notier. He was a sign painter and eventually had his own shop in Rochester. On 25 October 1882, in the Holland Reformed Church, Rochester, Isaac married Rose Fackler, the daughter of John Philip Fackler and Elisabeth Spies. Isaac and Rose had two sons, Arthur Robert and Herbert L. De Mallie. Isaac died on 9 August 1917 from appendicitis. He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery on 13 August 1917.
