Terry L. Charbonneau, 49, an artist, of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005, from complications of valley fever, after falling ill in 2000. Terry passed away in the arms of his loving wife, surrounded by family and many members of the UMC Hospital staff, who grew to know and love him. Terry always had a smile and thumbs up for them, he was their hero. He was born July 26, 1955, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Jeanetta and Roger Charbonneau. Terry met his best friend, Linda Wetzel in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on his 22nd birthday. They fell in love and moved to Nevada in 1979, and were married in 1983. Terry had a strong passion for family, cooking, reading, and making pots on the potters wheel. Fellow potters will remember him as "Captain Fire". He was also a mentor to his best friend's daughter, Taylor Gresen, who he treated like his own daughter. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Terry is survived by his sweetie, Linda; Taylor Gresen of Las Vegas; stepmother, Mabel Charbonneau of Pahrump; brother and sister, Jerry Charbonneau and Sherry Charbonneau, both of Oskaloosa, Iowa; stepbrothers, Mike Carpenter of Gulfport, Miss., Jeff Charbonneau of Pahrump; stepsisters, Maria Quercia of Pahrump, Mira Haenel of Las Vegas, Gina Cummins of Pahrump; and a multitude of friends. Rest pain free in peace, Terry. You will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved you. Terry will be cremated and the ashes placed in a hand thrown pot. There are no services planned at this time.
