Death: Jul. 27, 1863

Civil War Union Soldier. Volunteering on November 4, 1861 as a Sergeant, John T. Bailey, of Company A, 67th Ohio Infantry, received a fatal wound to his right leg during the July 18, 1863 Federal assault on Battery Wagner, Morris Island, South Carolina. He died from his injuries on July 27, 1863 reportedly in Charleston, South Carolina.
