Enlisted in Alto, Texas, on April 5, 1862. Promoted to corporal on October 20, 1862 and transferred to Camp Nelson.

Died on December 3, 1862 of disease at Camp Nelson, Lonoke Co., AR; buried at Camp Nelson Confederate Cemetery, Lonoke Co., AR or in the nearby hills.
