Anna C. Bertsch
PROVIDENCE - Anna C. Bertsch,
72, of Lowell Avenue, died yesterday
at home. She was the wife of Lt.
Herbert J. Bertsch, USN (ret.).
Born in Providence, she was
a daughter of the late Carl and Emily
(Bieweg) Gross.
Mrs. Bertsch was a member
of the Providence Turners Ladies
Auxiliary.
Besides her husband she
leaves three daughters, Emily L.
Card of North Providence, Marie C.
Carpenter, of Providence, and Claire
J. Silva of Johnston; a brother, the
Rev. Frederick Gross, SSJE, of
Cambridge, Mass.; a sister, Clara
Rakutis of Providence; eight
grandchildren, five
great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held
Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's
Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Elmwood Avenue. Burial will be in
Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
