Melvin was retired from the Philadelpia Quartz Company in Chester,Pa. He married Lydia A Detrick in 1907 and they had two daughters,Viola(VanWinkle) and Vera( Napier).
Lydia preceded him in death. Besides his daughters,he is survived by four grandchildren.
