Betty was born in Oxford on July 31, 1927, to Clarence and Helen Fredericks Davies. She grew up in Randolph and graduated from Randolph High School in 1944. Betty furthered her education, graduating from the Milwaukee Business College. Betty met Kenneth E. Ripple while singing in the Milwaukee Berean church choir. Betty and Kenn married three years later on August 27, 1949. Betty and Kenn raised their five children in Wisconsin, Michigan and Colorado, before settling in Oxford on her grandmother's farm, Thanksgiving of 1973.
Betty was a very artistic and creative woman who did china painting and stained glass. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, cooking, baking, canning, playing cards and nearly always catching bigger fish than Kenn. She was a very dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church of Oxford. Betty's greatest accomplishment was her family and she was very proud of all of them. She will not be soon forgotten by her family and all of the people who knew her.
Betty is survived by her five children, Warren (Judy) of North Canton, Ohio, David (Sarah) of Madison, Jon (Tammy) of Sheboygan, Wendy (Bob) Jobe of Baraboo and Cyndi Neeb (Scott Turner) of Montello. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Warren; her parents; and her husband in March 2013.
A memorial service was held on February 15, 2014 at Crawford Funeral Home, 306 S. Franklin Ave., Oxford. The Rev. Brenda Pulver presided. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Oxford, 210 Miller St., Oxford, WI 53952.
