Robert R. Anthes, 91, Lincoln, died Wednesday (3/16/05).

Born, Feb. 7, 1914, at Redwine, Calif. Grain and truck broker, nursing home administrator. Lived in Omaha, Kearney, Des Moines, Sioux City and in Lincoln since 1979. Graduated from Omaha South High School, 1932, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, 1937. Served, U.S. Navy, World War II on the USS Monterey carrier.

Member: American Legion Post 3, Lincoln; senator, Silver-Haired Unicameral; co-founder, Kearney United Way; Evangelical United Lutheran Church.

Survivors: wife of 63 years, Elsie (Stahmer); daughters, son-in-law, Dr. Eileen and Dick Vautravers, Lincoln, Kathleen Anthes, Omaha; sister, Theda Tarlowski, Las Cruces, N.M.; nieces, nephews.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Evangelical United Lutheran Church, 5945 Fremont St. Private interment, Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery, Omaha. Visitation: noon until service time, church.
