Very quietly and peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 1999, David T. Carter, Sr. passed away at this home.
T.C., as he was affectionately known, was born on May 17, 1937 in Chester, South Carolina to the late John and Sibble Hopkins-Cater. He was the third of six children.
On December 22, 1961, T.C. was united in Holy Matrimony to Candance E. Burnette. They settled in Trevose, Pennsylvania. To this union, three children were born, David, Jr., Davetta and Anita. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
One of T.C.'s passions was cooking. But his greatest joy came from caring for his grandchildren.
At an early age, T.C. gave his life to Christ and joined Second Wilson Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina. After moving to Trevose, T.C. joined St. Matthew, United Methodist Church and was a faithful member for 25 years.
T.C. leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife Candance, one son, David, Jr. of Milton, PA; two daughters, Davetta A. Carter of Trevose, PA; Mrs. Anita B. Hamilton of Bensalem, PA, Mr.s Mariam Carter-Talford of Chester, S.C.; three brothers, William Carter and John Carter of Bronx, N.Y.; Carlton Carter of Chester, S.C.; his best friend, Benjamin F. Clawson who was like a brother; two brothers-in-law, George Dennis and Robert Talford,; two sisters-in-law, Priscilla Carter and Shirley Carter; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Faye Carter; one son-in-law, Dwayne D. Hamilton, Sr.; five grandchildren, Pierre, Danisha, Delona, Taylor and Dwayne Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.
