Pearl H. Burris was born June 12, 1896, at Orion and died Aug. 23, 1959, at Oakley at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 11 days.
She married Floyd S. Burris on Dec. 28, 1915, at Gove. To this union were born eight children: Ida Marie and Austin, who preceded her in death; Elizabeth Summers, Elbert, Colo.; Doris Summers, Kansas City; Mo.; Otis, Gove; Viola Grubb, Lexington, Mo.; Kenneth, Olathe,; Mary Jane Losey, Gove.
Her busband, Floyd S. Burris, Oakley and a brother Lloyd Schaible,; Gorham also survive. In addition there are 22 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Most of her life was spent on farms in Gove county until the spring of 1953, when Mr. and Mrs. Burris moved to Oakley.
She was a member of the Eastern Star for 42 years. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Methodist WSCS, and the Gove Methodist church
She was a kind and loving mother and friend to all who knew her.
Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd Burris, Oakley, were held Tueday morning in the Gove Methodist church.
She had died Sunday morning in the Logan County hospital, Oakley, following an illness of several months' duration.
Conducting the service was the Rev. Glen Fruth, Brethren minister of Quinter. Burial was in the Gove cemetery.
The Burrises had made their home in Oakley since 1953, before which they had farmed for many years west of Gove.
Mrs. Burris was born Pearl H. Schaible at Orion June 12, 1896. She was married Dec. 28, 1915, at Gove. Surviving are her husband, a brother, and six children.
