He was born in Butte Sept. 28, 1964, to Thomas and Mary Blastek. He attended Hawthorne Elementary and Butte Central High School, graduating in 1983. After high school he attended both Montana State University and the University of Montana. He worked at various companies before starting at the Montana State Prison in May 1989, where he held the position of unit manager.
Tony met the love of his life Melissa (Speegle) and they were married the following year in 1995. Along with the love of his life came two beautiful daughters, Shelby and Chelsy. In 1996, they had a beautiful baby boy, Michael, and were blessed again in 1997 with another beautiful daughter, Heather.
His family was the core of Tony's life. His most treasured memories were those of coaching Heather and Mike's T-ball teams and coaching basketball for Shelby and Chelsy. Tony loved to hunt, fish, camp and do anything that involved being in the mountains or outdoors. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Montana Grizzly fan, along with his entire family. He was a pillar of strength for his family through the good times and the bad. Tony fought his demons his whole life and his angel finally came to take him to heaven.
Tony will be sadly missed by his family, but they know that they will all be together again someday. Tony had some wonderful friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Blastek; grandparents, Peter and Margaret Nulty and Mike and Eva Blastek.
